Mabuhay Works

The story behind our name

Mabuhay.

mah-BOO-hai

Welcome. Long life. Goodwill. More than a word—it is a way of treating the person standing in front of you.

01 · The meaning

A small word doing the work of many.

In Hawaii, people say aloha. One small word doing the work of many—hello, goodbye, peace, love, mercy, life itself. You cannot translate it in one go, because it is not really a word. It is a way of treating people.

The Philippines has a word like that too.

Mabuhay. Welcome. Long life. Goodwill.

It is what you say when someone comes through the door. It is what you say when you raise a glass. It is what you say when you want good things for the person standing in front of you.

That word came into our family through Elena and Mael, and it turned out to be exactly the right name for what we do—because when you strip away all the technical talk, our whole job is making sure your customers get a welcome.

02 · What it means for your business

What that actually means.

Somebody in your town needs what you do. They pick up their phone. What happens in the next ninety seconds decides whether they become your customer or somebody else’s.

Do they find you? Is the information actually right? Do the pictures look like the work you really do? When they look for a reason to trust you, is there one?

Most owners already understand the problem. They are simply stretched thin.

That is where Mabuhay Works comes in.

Accurate information
Work worth showing
Trust from real customers
03 · Why “Works”

The “Works” half of the name.

We picked it because it is honest about what we do.

Not a strategy shop. Not a firm. A works—the place where the actual work gets done.

We build the thing, we keep it running, and we tell you plainly what it did for you this month.

We build it
We keep it working
We report plainly

Who you’ll actually be dealing with.

We are a family working out of Thornfield, Missouri: Todd, Elena and Mael.

Three people, one company. No account managers, no ticket numbers and nobody handing your business to a stranger. When you call, you get one of us—and after a while, you will know which one.

We chose small towns and small cities on purpose. These are the places the big agencies fly over. The businesses here are the good kind: people who fix things, build things, show up when they say they will, and got where they are through word of mouth and honest work. That is worth being visible for.

We would rather shake your hand than email you a proposal. When we can, we do both.

So—Mabuhay.

Welcome. Long life to your business, and goodwill to you and yours. Let’s make sure your customers receive the same.
